It was reported that Chief Innocent Ezeokafor, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Ekwulobia Urban Mass Transport Limited, an Ekwulobia Aguata council of Anambra State-based transport company, passed away at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Teaching Hospital in Nnewi one week after he regained his freedom from the den of his kidnappers.
The tragic event took place approximately one week after the thugs who had kidnapped him a few weeks earlier, on October 19,2022, had freed him and let him go.
According to information obtained from the headquarters of the company in Ekwulobia, Ezeokafor passed away at the intensive care unit of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital in Nnewi on Saturday. He had been rushed there after his health condition deteriorated and became more complicated while he was being held captive by his kidnappers.
Since his kidnapping on October 19, 2022, he had been held captive up until this past week, after having been held captive for a total of 18 days.
His health, according to sources within his family, deteriorated while he was held captive, and he eventually passed away as a result of severe complications that he developed.
