Peter Okoye of PSquare, better known by his stage as Mr. P, recently turned to social media to discuss his experience with identifying a scammer who had been posing as him.
Zoom Lifestyle, which The Singer promotes, is a lottery scam. In the past, he has issued multiple disclaimers warning people that his old films and photographs were being used by scammers to fool people on social media.
The musician was recently caught on camera on Instagram demonstrating typical fraudster procedure while on a video call with one of their victims.
While on the phone with Peter, the impersonator’s victim attempted to ring back to the crook so that the crook could demonstrate his methods to Peter Okoye.
Evidence suggests the con artist makes video calls to his victims, making it appear as though the celebrity is actually speaking.
When Mr. P reported the scam, the imposter called again professing to be the singer and even claimed he had a gig to get to, all the while unaware that he had been caught on camera.
However, the fraudster’s video and words did not match because he was merely utilizing the singer’s visage.
Peter Okoye tagged the video with the following:
“I CAUGHT A FRAUDSTER PRETENDING TO BE ME⛔️ How people keep falling these Scammers amazes me! Like how? It has been 2 years I stopped anchoring and calling @zoomupyourlife winners!
They Fraudsters insert my old videos in-front of you and start communicating with you in the background! Pls let’s be guided!”
