Your Android device collects information every time you browse online in order to optimize and speed up your surfing experience. Over time, you accumulate so much data that, rather than improving your browsing experience, these cache files slow down your phone and fill up your memory.
If you’ve found that your phone is performing strangely, that apps are running slower, and that your browser is taking longer to load pages that normally load in a second, consider deleting your cache.
Cache files are JavaScript files that are stored on your phone. And the sooner you remove them, the quicker your phone will return to normal.
Usually, I’m asked if deleting these hidden files will affect your browsing or any of the Internet content you’ve chosen to save. The answer is no, and there is nothing to be concerned about. If your phone is slow, feel free to clear the cache. It can only help you improve your performance.
I’ve put up a quick explanation of what hidden cache is, where it comes from, and how to clear it.
What exactly is a hidden cache, and where did it originate?
Every time you browse a website or run an app on your Android device, the aforementioned hidden cache is retained in your phone. Scripts, style sheets, and other such items are examples. Your phone is now keeping all of these files in order to speed up the next time you visit the website. On the other hand, having cache files retained for a long time has two big drawbacks.
- Your phone’s memory is being used to store all of the cache.
- If the website has been updated since your last visit and you have cache enabled, you will see the old version rather than the new one.
Now that you know what a hidden cache is and why it’s not always a good idea to keep it around for a long time, let’s look at how to clear it.
In this article, Niketrainers.com.co will tell you:
What is the best way to clear a cache that has been hidden?
You may remove the hidden cache on your Android device in two ways. You may erase it through third-party apps or from the Chrome app (which is the default browser on every Android device).
How do I clear the cache in Chrome?
- Launch Chrome on your device.
- In the top right corner, tap three dots.
- When the drop-down menu appears, select History.
- Select Clear browsing data.
- You will be given the option to choose a time frame, from the last hour to all time.
- Select Cached images and files from the drop-down menu.
- Now, at the bottom, press the Clear data button.
That is all there is to it. Your cache memory was successfully emptied.
How can I clear Mozilla Firefox’s cache?
Mozilla is the second most popular browser. Now I’ll show you how to remove your cache for this specific one as well.
- Open the Mozilla Firefox application.
- In the top left corner, tap three bars.
- Select Privacy & Security from the drop-down menu.
- Select Clear private data from the drop-down menu.
- Finally, choose Cache and Cached Data.
- Select Clear data from the menu.
And that’s all there is to it. You also cleared your cache in this location.
How do I clear the cache from third-party programs that are hidden?
The procedure is similar to that of the Google Chrome app. To clear your cache, follow the steps below.
- Select Settings > Storage from the drop-down menu.
- Select Device Storage > Internal Storage from the drop-down menu.
- Select Cache data
- When a box appears asking if you want to clear your cache memory, click OK.
Note that clearing the cache will not destroy any of your app’s data, including account information.
If your phone has an SD card, you’ll be asked to choose between internal and external storage. Choose based on where you want to remove the cache of the program.
How do I clear the cache on my iPhone or iPad?
It’s time to erase the hidden cache on your iPhone/iPad (if you have one) after deleting the hidden cache on your Android device.
You’ll be able to delete duplicate images, web history, cookies, and cache from your device after that. I recommend cleaning the cache once a week because it can continue to accumulate due to the Internet and programs installed on your device.
To clear the hidden cache that has accumulated on your device over time, take these steps:
- To begin, go to your iPhone/home iPad’s screen and open the Settings app. Then, from all of the available alternatives, you must choose Safari. You’ll notice a variety of options once you’re within the safari settings. Clear History and Website Data are the options here. Tap on Clear History & Data to confirm your choice.
How to Clear Third-Party App Cache on iPhone/iPad
The last step after deleting the cache on your iPhone/iPad is to erase the cache of third-party apps loaded on your iPhone/iPad.
This includes apps and games you’ve downloaded from the app store as well as apps and games you’ve sideloaded after jailbreaking your iPhone. Here’s how to clear your device’s cookies and cache:
- Choose a specific app for which you want to clear the cache first. I had chosen the Spotify app in my case.
- Next, go to your device’s Settings app.
- Scroll down and turn on the Reset cached content slider for the Spotify app.
That is all there is to it. You’ve successfully removed the cache from your device’s third-party app.
App to clear cache
Finally, I’d like to point you that you can delete your cache memory using an app. Clear Cache App works great for me! It removes not only cache but also garbage, big files, photographs, and media files, among other things. In other words, with just one app, you’ll be able to get rid of all of your unwanted content!
The best part is that it’s simple to use. Simply open it and select Clear Cache.
How often should your cache memory be cleared?
It’s a good idea to delete cache every now and then, even if it’s not required. As previously stated, if the website has an updated version and you save cache for an excessive amount of time, you will only view the cached version. And it’s not as if there’s a need for it. If deleting the cache on your phone does not help, you may want to consider storing video and photographs on the cloud or purchasing a new SD card.
