Steam Library Manager (SLM) enables users to move games between units much faster than the Steam client itself. Despite being a third-party app not made by Valve, SLM is reliable and easy to set up. Find out how you can use the Steam Library Manager to quickly move games to a different partition.
In this article, Niketrainers.com.co will tell you:
Download the Steam Library Manager
First, click here to go to the Steam Library Manager download page.
Look for the latest version and download the file “Steam.Library.Manager.zip” to the selected folder.
In this folder, right click on the .zip file and extract it with the command “Extract All …”
From the folder you created, open “Steam Library Manager.exe” to start the installation process.
Initial settings
In the initial setup, SLM will guide you through the installation wizard.
On the next screen, you’ll see an option to enable Origin and UPlay support. If you have these clients installed on your computer, please do so freely. Otherwise, ignore it and go to the last page. Click “Close” and you can proceed to the appropriate library management.
Using the Steam Library Manager
Now that you’re in Steam’s Library Manager, most options are self-explanatory. The interface will display all of your Steam installations on all of your drives, and will allow you to freely drag and drop games between them.
You can select, click and drag as many games as you want to queue them in your Task Manager. However, to start transferring, click “Task Manager” in the application and select “Start”.
And you’re done: you’ve uploaded your first games without preventing you from using Steam. However, you will need to restart Steam before playing any of the transferred games.
If you want to quickly free up space on one of your drives, click the “Sort games by” drop-down menu in the upper right corner and select “Disk Size”.
This will quickly show you which games are taking up too much space on a given disk and allow you to quickly delete, compress, clone, or move them to another disk.
From now on, all the other features of the app are obvious on the facial level, or a little too flashy in terms of this article. If you’ve been playing games for a long time, you’ll be interested in knowing your Steam stats like how long and how long you’ve been playing.
