Former Vice President and current presidential candidate for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has stated that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is responsible for the destruction of the country.
Atiku Abubakar, while addressing party supporters at a presidential rally held by his party on Saturday in Benin, Edo State, declared that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is not a party that should be supported.
He pleaded with the general populace to maintain their allegiance to the PDP.
He claimed that the APC was responsible for the destruction of the educational system, the economy, and the infrastructure of the country, as well as their failure to handle the security concerns the country faces.
Additionally, the former Vice President reaffirmed his determination to combat insecurity, strengthen the economy, bring the nation together, and work for national unity.
Atiku made the following declaration: “We have vowed to reunify this country.” What exactly do we mean when we say that? We intend to do it in such a way that every region of this nation will feel as though it is a part of the whole. You will not be left out of anything at any point.
“Two, we affirm our commitment to reestablishing safety. We will do whatever it takes to restore security in this country so that you can travel safely at any time of day or night, so that you can visit your farms, and so that you can visit any location without fear.
“We will increase the number of officers patrolling the streets. We will provide them with equipment, we will strengthen them, and because we have pledged to transfer additional responsibilities to the states and local governments, you will also be able to have your own local police force. We will see to it that the police in your area do not harass you in any way.
“Third, we are going to send all of our children who are eligible back to school. They are required to attend school, as is every other youngster in the world.
“If you remember, during the years of the PDP, we instituted obligatory primary school education from elementary to secondary school, and we are charging Nigerians with the responsibility of educating these children.” However, that pledge is not being kept by the current government. We assure you that each and every child will be required to attend school, and that our educational institutions will not go on strike.
“Once more, we affirm our commitment to reviving the economy of this nation. We are going to make certain that production in all of our domestic industries and factories gets back up and running as soon as possible. We will work to ensure that there are sufficient employment opportunities for our young people when they graduate from school. This is what we mean when we talk about giving new life to the economy.
You have seen how the APC has devastated this country and the economy of this country, and now it is your turn to do the same. They have eliminated the opportunity for you to further your studies. They have eliminated the chances you had of getting a job. The APC is not a party that ought to receive support. They are those that wreck things.
“Therefore, we urge you to maintain your commitment to the PDP, and we assure you that the PDP will continue to demonstrate its commitment to you.
