I used to use my smartphone’s flashlight for a while as I had to light my way in the absence of electricity. Holding it by the sides, I didn’t realize how much my phone was getting hot. When I finally remembered where I put my flashlight in these types of situations, my phone was so hot I couldn’t even hold it in my hand.
There will always be situations or applications that will cause our devices to overheat, but knowing how to cool a hot Android device down is a must. The first thing we need to know is where the heat is coming from. This will determine where the problem is and help us find the right solution.
In this article, Niketrainers.com.co will tell you:
Find out which apps are using the most battery
Overheating and battery power are often connected. CPU and graphics intensive applications (especially games) will put additional pressure on these components, heating them up and draining your battery. So if you find apps that are draining your battery, you’ll usually find those that are causing it to overheat as well.
Keeping track of them is quite simple as Android has nice built-in battery management features. Go to ‘Settings -> Battery -> Usage Details.
Thanks to this, you will find out which applications use the most battery on your phone. It’s inevitable that your web browser and favorite news apps will be ranked high, but are there any apps you don’t think should be there?
These apps may run in the background and heat up your phone without your knowledge. If you find these applications in this list, uninstall them.
If you find that an app is using an abnormal amount of battery power, it can reduce background battery drain, which should help keep your device cool.
Tap the app in the “Battery Usage” list and you will be presented with two key battery usage options: “Background Restriction” and “Battery Optimization”.
In the first option, you can limit the background app’s battery consumption, which may limit its ability to sync in the background etc. Under Battery optimization, you need to optimize the apps that use the most battery by touching them in the list and then selecting “Optimize”.
Do not use third-party chargers or cables
Micro-USB cable chargers shared by most Android devices are largely great because they’re versatile, but that doesn’t necessarily mean you should use old cables and phone chargers. If your phone overheats while charging, you can check it.
Different chargers have different wattages and are optimized for different devices. Ideally, you should use official chargers and cables from the phone manufacturer, but official hardware for other phones should be fine as well. Avoid cheap eBay chargers that cost less than $ 1 and third-party hardware from unknown brands.
Refresh your Android device with Cooling Master
There are plenty of apps claiming to cool your phone down, but the actual actions many of them take are somewhat arbitrary and will do little to help a device that is overheating.Cooling MasterIt makes it easy: it scans your device for background applications and then presents a list of those that are using the most background CPU.
Then you can tap “Cooling” to close all these malicious apps at once and wait a while for the device to cool down. Ideally, the app recommends that you turn off your phone’s screen and let it cool down for a few minutes before further use.
This app is ad-supported, but unlike many similar apps, there are no in-app purchases or a “premium” version. All functions are available right out of the box, which is always the key to our hearts here.
Keep the device in a cool place
The location of the device is also important when trying to cool it down. It makes no sense to use Cooler Master if you intend to place it near a window where it will have direct sunlight. To cool your device even further, try removing it from the case so that any heat has a chance to escape. Some cases tend to trap heat inside.
Never cool down your Android device like this
If your appliance is very hot, you may be tempted to put it in the freezer or refrigerator for a minute or two. You can even keep the clock on so you can pick it up on time, but experts call it a “terrible idea” because your device can accumulate moisture and even strain components.
How to prevent your Android device from overheating
Now that we know how to cool our devices, wouldn’t it be great if we didn’t have to waste time on this? Therefore, there are some things we should avoid if we want our phone or tablet to be pleasant and cool.
If you want to prevent your Android device from overheating, you need to:
- Occasionally remove and inspect the battery to make sure it is not leaking or swollen. Replacing the battery in your device every one to two years will extend the life of your phone and reduce overheating.
- Remove the cover while charging.
- Disable unwanted features.
- Lower the camera setting if it is too high; can prevent the phone from overheating.
- Try not to play games for a long time.
When my phone gets too hot, I automatically turn it off until it cools down. Then I follow the tips above as my main goal is to cool the phone down and turning it off for a few minutes always works.
Controlling Android apps and background processes is key to keeping your phone cool, and we’ve got plenty of other tips on how to do that. And just like you can batch stop Android apps, you can also batch uninstall Android apps. Check it out!
