Whether you want to share something with your IT technician or are writing a tutorial, taking a screenshot of your computer can be extremely helpful. Fortunately, there are many different ways to take screenshots on Windows 10, and we’ve gathered a few of them here.
In this article, Niketrainers.com.co will tell you:
1. Use your graphics card software (Nvidia or AMD)
Screenshots can be tricky at times. Depending on the application or game you are using, you may not be able to access the default Windows shortcuts for taking screenshots. It’s a good idea to have a backup in these situations. If you’re using an Nvidia or AMD graphics card, you’ve got one.
Owners of Nvidia graphics cards with GeForce Experience enabled should be able to take a screenshot by pressingAlt+F1. (You can change the hotkey using the GeForce Experience overlay, which can be opened by pressingAlt+Z.)
In the meantime, owners of AMD graphics cards can take screenshots withkontrola+Zmiana+ja, but again, you can change this hotkey to one selected by the Radeon software in “Settings -> Hotkeys”.
2. Stay up to date with Snip & Sketch
Over the years, the built-in Windows snipping tool has served us well, but due to the modernization, Microsoft has released a new screenshot tool this year called “Snip & Sketch”, which will eventually completely replace the Snip & Sketch tool. Cutout. If you want to stay ahead of the curve, you should use this instead.
To open Snip & Sketch, pressZwycięstwo, type “cutout” and select “Cutout & Sketch”.
In the Snip & Sketch window, you can go directly to the Snip by clicking New in the upper left corner. (Click the arrow next to it to set the screenshot to the timer.)
When you click New, you’ll see icons for four options at the top of the screen: Rectangular Snip, Freeform Snip, Window Snip, and Full Screen Snip. Click the one you want and create a custom screenshot!
After taking the screenshot, you can make basic changes, save it, and even share it with specific people or online (option in the upper right corner).
3. Take a screenshot with Snipping Tool
While Snip & Sketch is intended to replace it, the Snipping Tool still exists in Windows 10 and is still a good screenshot tool. It’s been around since Vista, and for good reason. It is intuitive and easy to use. To open the application, go to “Start -> All Programs -> Windows Accessories -> Snipping Tool”.
After opening the application, click “New” to start the screen capture process. This will automatically blank your screen, but don’t worry. It simply means that the tool is ready to “crop” the designated area of the screen.
Just click and drag the mouse to crop the screen including the area you want to capture. Releasing the mouse button will automatically generate a preview of the newly created screenshot. If you want to save it, click the floppy disk icon in the upper left corner of the Snipping Tool window. If you exit the program without saving, the screenshot will be discarded.
Notice that the default trim type is a rectangular box. If you click the arrow next to the “New” button in the snipping tool, a drop-down menu will appear allowing you to change the snip type to Any, Window, or Full Screen.
4. The easiest way to take a screenshot in Windows: the PrtScn button
Snipping Tool is not the only way to take screenshots in Windows 10. You can also take screenshots of the entire screen by simply pressing the “Print screen” button. This button may be labeled “PrtScn”, “PrtSc” or the like. Please note that on some laptop keyboards it may be necessary to press the “Fn” function button simultaneously with the “Print Screen” button to activate this function.
Pressing the “Print Screen” button seems to do nothing. However, it did capture your screen. Instead of saving the screenshot as a file, the “Print Screen” button just copies it to the clipboard. To save a screenshot, you need to paste it from the clipboard into another program. After copying the screenshot to Paint, Word, or another program, you can save it to a location of your choice.
5. Windows key + PrtScn
Copying a screenshot to another program is handy if you want to make changes, but what if you want the screen the way it is? Fortunately, there’s a quick and easy way to do this. All you have to do is pressWindowsthe key andZrzut ekranusimultaneously.
This will temporarily dim your screen, which also means you have taken the screenshot successfully. The screenshot will appear in a folder with the appropriate name “Screenshots” in the “Pictures” folder.
Note: Some laptops may require Fn to activate the Print Screen button. In that case, you would have to press the Windows, Fn, and Print Screen keys simultaneously.
6. Take a screenshot of one window only
In some cases, capturing the entire screen may not be necessary. Luckily, if you only want to take a screenshot of a specific window, there’s a keyboard shortcut for that. Just click the title bar of the window you want to capture and pressAlt+ at the same timePrtScn. This will capture the active window as a screenshot and copy it to the clipboard. To save or edit, you need to paste the image into the selected program.
7. Take a screenshot of only part of the screen
If you just want to take a screenshot of a specific window instead of a full screen, you’re in luck. UrgentZwycięstwo+Zmiana+ AtSthe same time, it will make the screen go dark and the mouse cursor will change. If that sounds familiar, it’s because it looks and works exactly like the snipping tool mentioned above.
Click and drag around the screen to select the part of the screen you want to capture. When you release your mouse, you’ll notice the biggest difference between this shortcut and the snipping tool. Unlike the Snipping Tool, this shortcut doesn’t automatically preview the screenshot. Instead, just copy the screenshot to the clipboard, which means you’ll have to paste it into your editing program (Word, Paint, etc) before you can save it.
