Apple Music has become a real competitor to Spotify and similar streaming services, especially when it comes to sharing accounts. With this option, you can share your subscription with friends and family so that anyone can access your version of the music streaming service. Here’s how to share Apple Music via Family Sharing, a feature built into all Apple devices.
In this article, Niketrainers.com.co will tell you:
Who can share Apple Music using Family Sharing?
Before continuing, there is something important to consider. Not all Apple Music accounts can use Family Sharing because you must have a “Family” subscription for Apple Music ($ 14.99 / month) to use Family Sharing. This does not apply to the “Student” or “Individual” subscription plans.
Alternatively, Apple One lets you subscribe to Apple Music (and many other services). However, to use Family Sharing, you will need a “Family” account ($ 19.95 / month) or a “Premier” account ($ 29.95 / month).
Subscribers to applicable Apple One plans can share Apple Music with up to five people. Direct subscribers to the Apple Music Family plan can share their subscription with up to six people.
Set up Family Sharing
As soon as you set up Family Sharing on your iPhone or iPhone, you can start rolling out eligible Apple digital services, including Apple Music. Here’s what you need to do:
1. On your iPhone or iPad, launch the Settings app. Tap your name, which should appear at the top of your device screen.
2. Select “Family Sharing”. If you have not used this feature before, you will see the option “Set up family”. Your device will now show what services you can share, and Apple Music should be there.
3. During the last step of Family Share setup, you will be able to invite people. Select “Invite People” and then choose how you want to share the invitation. This can be done via SMS, email, AirDrop, or in person.
From there, you started sharing your Apple Music subscription. However, for others to start using this streaming service, they must accept your invitation. After tapping “Join the Family” they will have access to Apple Music and any other services.
How to share Apple music by adding new members to the family sharing group?
After you set up a Family Sharing group, you can remove it or add new members to it. If you later decide to share your Apple Music with someone, follow these steps:
1. On your iPhone or iPad, go to the Settings app. Select your name at the top and select “Family Sharing” from the options on the screen.
2. At this point you will see your Family Sharing group. To add another person to this group, select “+ Add member”. The setup screen will appear, giving you an overview of how many “free slots” you have left on your subscription.
3. Tap “Invite People” and choose how to send the invitation (you can do this via Message, Email, or AirDrop). The recipient will need to interact with your invitation by activating their account along the way. It is!
After sending an invitation to share your Apple Music subscription, you can check the status of the invitation by going to “Settings -> [your name] -> Family Sharing”. In case of technical problems, you can always resend the invitation by selecting “Resend invitation”.
