Dark Mode was introduced as a native feature in Android 10, and Google allows users to easily turn the feature on and off in their device settings. However, some phone models have taken this feature to the next level.
Pixels, as well as some Android 11 smartphones and Samsung devices, now allow users to schedule their entry into dark mode. This means you can set the mode to automatically turn on at dusk and then turn off at the first sign of sunrise in the morning.
Alternatively, owners of Android 10 devices can take advantage of this functionality as well, although enabling programming mode is a bit more complicated in this case. This article will show you how to use this useful option if you have a smartphone with Android 10 or above.
In this article, Niketrainers.com.co will tell you:
How to set dark mode on a Pixel phone
The option to set dark mode exists on Pixel from Android 10. To activate it, you need to access Settings on your phone.
1. Tap on Display.
2. Select a Dark Theme.
3. Click Schedule.
4. There are two options. The first, “Turns on at custom time”, allows you to select a start and end time for your dark theme. The second option is “Turns On From Dusk Till Dawn”. It works without having to select the exact times.
If you feel that you want to activate dark mode earlier than scheduled, there is a simple way to do so. Add a dark theme to the Quick Action tiles on your phone.
1. Lower the notification ringtone and tap the pencil icon in the left corner.
2. The action will reveal an expanded list of Quick Action tiles.
3. Scroll down until you find the “Hold and drag to add tiles” section. You should see a “Dark Theme” tile.
4. Drag and drop to the top of the screen.
5. Then touch the back arrow in the upper left corner. You should see the “Dark Theme” switch in Quick Action.
If you need dark mode before sunset, turn it on (then turn it off again) to turn it on or off.
How to configure dark mode settings on a Samsung device
For Samsung phones, you must have a device with One UI 2 or higher to be able to program dark mode.
1. Open Settings on your Samsung device.
2. Go to “Display -> Dark Mode” settings.
3. Activate the “Activate according to schedule” option.
4. Select one of the two options available. The former tells the device to switch to dark mode from dusk to dawn, while the latter allows you to set a custom schedule. This is similar to what Pixels offers.
