Oba Abolarin Adedokun, the Orangun of Oke-lla, located in the Ifedayo Local Government Area of Osun state, has joined the mourning of Davido’s son Ifeanyi Adeleke along with other well-meaning Nigerians. Ifeanyi Adeleke passed away recently.
As a reaction to the news that Davido’s son, Ifeanyi, 3, had allegedly drowned in a swimming pool in their mansion on Banana Island in Lagos, The Monarch recalled how Davido’s mother, the late Dr. Mrs. Veronica Adeleke, had saved her son from drowning when he was just a toddler. This happened 25 years ago.
The king expressed his regret, in the form of a comment on a Facebook post about the passing of Ifeanyi, that there was no one available to do the same for Veronica’s grandson.
“SO sad it was David’s mummy, late Dr Mrs Veronica Adeleke that rescued my own son inside the swimming pool, some twenty five years ago.
I am sad, what Veronica did for my son years back, nobody, I mean nobody to play the same role for Veronica’s grandson Ifeanyi!!! Who are we to query God, may his soul rest in peace and may veronica’s soul continue to rest in peace. Fantastic woman.”
