The Sony-designed DualSense controller for the PlayStation 5 has been the subject of conversation in the city since its launch due to its unusual shape and new features designed to provide the player with an all-in-one experience. With an ergonomic grip and longer grips (compared to the competition), why would you buy a gamepad specifically for PC when you could just use this? Here we show how to connect a PS5 controller to a computer.
In this article, Niketrainers.com.co will tell you:
Connecting the PS5 controller to the computer via a cable
Perhaps imagining that its controllers would be loved enough by users that they would also want to use them to play their PC games, Sony Interactive designed the DualSense to work in tandem with their computer right out of the box.
If you already have a USB-C port on your computer, you can just plug your PS5 controller into your computer’s USB-C port and voila! The device will install itself.
Otherwise, you’ll have to use the USB-C to USB-A cable that came with the PS5 or buy another one so you don’t have to change cables every time you want to play on a different platform.
Wireless connection of the PS5 controller
While the DualSense PS5 controller has wireless features, it doesn’t have any dongle that can allow it to interact with your computer like this. It has universal Bluetooth connectivity, but not all computers can take advantage of this.
If your PC doesn’t have a Bluetooth adapter (most mid-range gaming laptops have one built-in), you’ll need to provide one. USB based Bluetooth adapters are quite common these days and quite cheap. You can get something likeEastorEastwhich cost less than $ 15.
Once you’ve connected the dongle to your computer, you can start pairing the DualSense by pressing the PS button and Create until the middle light flashes.
Then go to your computer’s Bluetooth interface (normally on Windows 10 this will be “Action Center” located on the notification bar) to start pairing. If you are prompted for a code, simply enter 0000 and configure the controller to work wirelessly with the system.
Compatibility issues
Even when connected, not all games are compatible with the controller. This can cause some PC games to malfunction and sometimes not recognize the device. You will have to email the developers when this happens as there is unfortunately no one-size-fits-all solution to this problem.
At the moment, the only game launcher available for UI navigation that is currently fully compatible with DualSense is Steam in “Big Picture” mode.
To configure your controller to use Big Picture, simply go to Steam Settings, go to “Controller” and click the “General Controller Settings” button. There, turn on “PlayStation Settings Support” if it is not already enabled.
And this is! You can now use your PS5 controller to control the Steam interface.
Hopefully after reading this guide, the prospect of enjoying the ergonomics, durability, and excellent handling of Sony’s latest controller while gaming on a computer will be less terrifying. Then you can learn how to check driver dead zones and calibrate the driver in Windows 10.
