Tonto Dikeh, who is running for African Democratic Congress (ADC) deputy gubernatorial candidate in Rivers State, has given a shocking insight as to why she sometimes thanks God that she does not know who her biological mother is. Dikeh is a Nollywood actress and candidate for the ADC in Rivers State.
During the course of an interview, Tonto Dikeh revealed the information while reminiscing about the influence of her late stepmother. She said:
“My stepmom was the only woman involved in my life who also supported me when I left home to pursue my career in the entertainment industry.
”She’s the only one who has ever blessed me, clothed me, fed me and prayed for me as a mother.
”The closest I have got to love from motherhood was from her, and she gave more than what she had. She was the best, the best woman on earth and because of her, sometimes I say, thank God I never knew my mother because she would not have been as good as this.”
This was discussed by the mother of one during an episode of Chude Jideonwo’s show titled “WithChude.”
When she was asked about how voters perceived her and her relationships, which had been a topic of discussion in public, she responded as follows:
“You’re not ready for change, because you cannot be looking at my bedroom life, and telling me that I cannot change you, that I can’t change the state. That’s irrelevant. If we’re having a marriage conversation, that can come up, but if we’re talking about leadership, that shouldn’t even be a yardstick of a conversation.
“I don’t want to say too much, but the truth is, we all know what we want. What if a husband has nothing for me? What if that’s not where I want life to carry me? There’s so many so many things that people should look at. What if I have said to myself, I do not ever want? I’m just saying, you know? What if a person has said to herself, I don’t want to ever get married, but I want to rule? So, I can’t do that because there’s no man beside me? We should be wise.”
