Placing links on different parts of your website has many purposes. One of them is speeding up the indexation of new subpages. If the website contains links to recently created subpages, e.g. categories, Google robots will reach them faster and index them in the search engine. Another goal, also important for SEO, is to strengthen the link between a specific phrase and a given subpage. For this, a blog is often used – an interesting entry that touches on a specific topic will lead to the pages under the appropriate anchor. For example, there is a clothing store, it has the category “maternity clothes”. An entry about how to comfortably dress during pregnancy is created on the blog and a link to the category with these products is placed under the phrase “maternity clothes”. When building internal linking on the basis of a blog, you should strictly stick to a specific SEO strategy,

Internal linking also has a navigation role, so it guides the user from one page to the other, and also allows you to return to the previous page – most often this is done by the breadcrumb menu. Thanks to it, the user will easily return to the higher-level subpage on which he was previously.

Orphan pages are a common error for internal linking. These are subpages of a given website to which there is no link on the given website. They are not in the menu or footer, they do not link to any other subpages, and you can get to them only after manually entering the entire address in the browsers field. These pages may not be indexed for an extremely long time and are virtually inaccessible to users.

Pictures and graphics are an important part of every page. Bots cannot see what is on a given graphic. Therefore, they need ALT attributes to describe the content of the image. For example, if you have a website about cooking and in your sour soup recipe you upload a photo of a beautiful-looking plate of this soup, you should use the ALT attribute that will tell bots that it is sour soup. Such an attribute could be ”a recipe for sourrye soup ” or ”how to cook a tasty sour rye soup?”“

Core Web Vitals

If this is your first time seeing this term, don’t worry, we’ll explain it in a moment. Core Web Vitals is a set of indicators that the Google search engine has been using for relatively recently (since mid-2021) in the assessment of individual websites. They are increasingly important for the SEO of the website, and Google takes them into account when assessing websites. There are currently three such CWV indicators. Here they are:

CLS: CUMULATIVE LAYOUT SHIFT

This is an indicator that can be the most difficult to understand. This is the so-called content instability indicator, i.e. the frequency of shifting of elements visible on your website. This parameter should not be higher than 0.1:
