Austin Faani, a filmmaker from Nigeria, has criticized the organizers of Big Brother Titans for not delaying the show until after the general elections in Nigeria have been completed.
He called out the producers of the show and the show’s host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, for airing the reality show so close to the election for president.
Austin, who is married to the well-known actress Chacha Eke-Faani, criticized the organizers for diverting Nigerians’ attention away from the upcoming presidential election with the turmoil and hype that follows the performance. Austin is married to Chacha Eke-Faani.
To refresh your memory, the first episode of BBTitans aired on Sunday. This reality show, which includes South African and Nigerian housemates, is already at the top of the trend tables on Twitter and other social media sites.
Faani, in response to this, stated that the event organizers should have waited until after the election so as not to distract people’s attention from the election itself. On Thursday, the 19th of January, he wrote:
“Someday, not soon maybe, Ebuka and BBN will explain to Nigerians why they couldn’t wait for just a month as to not distract the Nigerian masses especially the southern Nigeria that engages more in their awesome show from the coming election.
Just someday, there will be this dialogue, and I hope their reasons make sense and adds positive impact to what everyone in Nigeria is after at the moment.
Get your PVC guys.
I hear people say, vote wisely, vote with your conscience and all sorts.
If you can’t use any of the above traits to vote, simply vote for Peter Obi and Datti Yusuf.
Thumb print where you see a family picture.”
