To make it easier for Microsoft to use Windows 10, the company is gradually trying to replace the Control Panel with the Settings app. However, you may prefer the Control Panel or have easier access to more advanced settings that way. Despite not being front and center, there are a couple of ways to open the Control Panel in Windows 10.
In this article, Niketrainers.com.co will tell you:
1. Search the boot menu
The easiest method and my usual method is to use the Start menu. Since you can search files and applications on your system, use it to search for Control Panel.
Open Start and type “Control Panel”. Select Control Panel when it appears.
2. Pin to the start screen or taskbar
Another simple and quick way to open the Control Panel in Windows 10 is to pin it to the Start menu or the taskbar. You can also add it to both if you want it to be more accessible.
When you use the Start menu to find the Control Panel, you will notice that you have two options in the output of the Control Panel application.
Select any option to pin the app to the Start menu or taskbar. Personally, I prefer this on my Start menu as my taskbar is already a bit cluttered.
3. Open the Control Panel from Run.
The Run dialog box gives you access to various applications and settings in Windows 10, including the Control Panel. pressWygrać+Rto open the Run dialog. Then type “control panel” and click OK. You can also open the dialog box by right-clicking on Start and selecting Run.
4. Open with the command line
This has an extra step that does not make it as effective as the methods used so far. However, it’s still a viable way to open the Control Panel.
Or pressWygrać+R(or open Start) and typecmd
. Type “control panel” when prompted and press Enter.
Alternatively, you can use PowerShell as it works the same way. Right-click Start and select Windows PowerShell. Type “control panel” when prompted.
5. Search in Settings
If you don’t like using the Settings app, use it long enough to open the Control Panel in Windows 10. Or pressWygrać+jaor open Start and click the Settings icon to open Settings.
Then type “control panel” in the settings search box. Select the result from the Control Panel.
6. Add a shortcut to the desktop
If you open the Control Panel frequently, creating a desktop shortcut can be the quickest and easiest method. If your desktop is cluttered, there are a couple of ways you can better organize all of these shortcuts.
Create a shortcut to the Control Panel on the desktop by right-clicking on a free space on the desktop. Select “New -> Shortcut”.
Enter the following information in the location field and hit Next:
explorer shell: ControlPanelFolder
Enter a name for the shortcut. The default “browser” is not very descriptive. Of course, I called my Control Panel.
Click Finish and enjoy the new shortcut.
7. Add to Win + X menu
Initially, you could open the Control Panel by right-clicking the Start menu or pressingWygrać+Xto access the Advanced User menu, but Microsoft removed this option, much to the consternation of users. However, as you already know, the Control Panel is gone, at least not yet.
You can add an option back to this menu. The easiest way to do this is with the WinX menu editor, which is completely free.
8. Use File Explorer
Another way to quickly open the Control Panel is to use File Explorer. pressWygrać+mnieto open File Explorer. Select “This PC” on the left side.
Click the arrow between the computer icon and “This PC” to expand the menu. Select Control Panel from the list.
Overall, the fastest methods include creating a desktop shortcut or pinning a shortcut to the Start menu or taskbar. However, each of the above works well to ensure you don’t have to rely solely on your settings to monitor and optimize your computer.
