Summer is on the doorstep. The longest days of the year warm. Staying at home is not worth it.
So, I invite you to the court (or “to the field”) in my weekend cycle:
If you want to start running, start… walking.
I keep writing about this running and I know there are loads of people that never ever. And they can’t even imagine running. Well, they can.
Today I will refer to the book by Jeff Galloway, who is called the coach of America . In 1972, he was a member of the American Olympic team, where he ran 10,000 meters. Today, he is 75 years old and is a great popularizer of running. He has written over a dozen books on running. He recommends running and walking, and his method involves alternating running and walking. It proves that jogging is not only a great way to start running, but that you can achieve very good results in this way.
In his book , Galloway Running , he presents, among other things, a preparation plan for running the first 5 and 10 km and a half marathon. It also shows various circulatory aspects: feeding, stretching, etc.
Well, if you have never ever run, but you want to start running – then walk:
→ Walk for 30 minutes as often as you like – until you feel it come easily to you.
→ If you feel like running, start running into the walk. After 5 minutes of walking, jog for 30-60 seconds. Then another 5 minutes of walking. And so, keep walking and running for 30 minutes. Keep doing this for a while.
→ Observe your body and when you feel that this exercise is easy – then start to shorten the walking time in favor of running. About a minute.
→ And so every time.
→ Sooner or later, you will reach 30 minutes of running alone.
It is important not to feel any discomfort and anguish in all of this.

For my part, I also encourage you to find a running company. First, try to get the person closest to you—the one you live with. Running together is great fun.
Summer is a great time to start running. The days are long, you can run both before and after work because it is bright (and warm) for a long time. Not to mention the holidays, on which we have more time and it is also worth spending it on a run.
